There are many types of aqua farms and aquaculture systems. Some of the common ones are:
Hatchery, Nursery, Growout ponds
with mud bottom, Growout ponds with PE lined bottom, Biofloc or BFT culture,
RAS or Recirculating Aquaculture System, IPRS or In Pond Raceway System,
Aquaculture in small tanks, Aquafarming in large tanks, etc.
Each of these system is designed
and useful for different species, at different life stages of the aqua life,
and for different climates and outputs. Hence their aeration needs are also
vastly different.
Understanding this diverse needs of
aqua farmers, AirOxi offers 3 distinct type of aeration tubes

As you can see clearly from these high resolution images

All 3 types have different grain structure. However they are
all very uniform within the tube
The material used in all 3 is of extremely high quality and
durability as expected from AirOxi. And they are all suitable based on the kind
of aeration required.
Ø AirOxi
Pearl – is a tube with a very smooth finish and has very fine bubbles – 0.2 to
0.5 mm size – ideal for high aeration, low movement like in RAS. The pressure
required to operate this is higher than for regular tubes.
Ø AirOxi high
efficiency tube – Medium rough finish, with a bubble size 0.5 to 1.0 mm – ideal
for most applications like Growout ponds, tanks, nurseries, and IPRS etc. –
gives high aeration and moderate water movement with moderate frequency of
cleaning
Ø AirOxi Xtra
– Rough tube with big bubbles for extra water movement and low aeration, and
low maintenance. Ideal for Biofloc or BFT – with a Bubble size 1.0 mm and bigger.
It works on very low pressure blowers, so is especially suited for single stage
ring blowers.
Since the pressure required by each type is different we do
not recommend that you mix and match when using these different tubes.
AirOxi also offers other
specialized tubes like the AirOxi STAR (for biofloc ponds), the AirOxi NC-16
(for one time low cost use in mud bottom ponds) and the Airoxi – 22 , a special
low pressure tube for use with ring blowers.
